Philips MPEG 2  Encoding System (scenario/voice)
Back
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But in terms of bytes and storage space, every picture takes up far more than a thousand words. A picture consists of more than 400,000 pixels. And each pixel requires 3 bytes. For moving images, you need to multiply that by 25 frames per second. That means you need a total of around 31 megabytes, a small hard disc for every second. Not to mention a full-length feature film. Philips has developed a system which can reduce this enormous flood of data. Variable Bit Rate MPEG 2 Encoding. And you can't see the difference.
